Plein Air Painters

The Plein Air Artists will display their work in the El Paso Electric Gallery at the Rio Grande Theatre during the month of September. Rhoda Winters works primarily with acrylics using natural realistic colors. She has always been fascinated by the power of color and the intricacies of the patterns in nature. Jeri Derouchers found her passion in thick impasto oil paint, experimenting with new techniques and materials and always striving to push the boundaries. Arlene Tugel’s deep appreciation for the land and all the life it supports inspires her and is a constant reminder to let her own light shine. Louise Sacket lives in Silver City and works primarily with oil. She is a member of the Black Range Artists Inc. Linda Hagen, although a native of Ohio, quickly connected with the southwest landscape to capture the feeling, light, mood and profound sense of beauty of New Mexico. Mary Zawacki recently moved to Las Cruces from Los Angeles where she had a long-standing career as an advertising art director and graphic  designer working  for the major movie studios. She works in oil, pastel and watercolors.
