The Tombaugh Gallery at 2000 South Solano Drive is pleased to present Soul of Silk, an exhibition of silk art and wearables by Las Cruces artist Judy Licht. The show opens Sunday, September 14, with a reception and artist’s demonstration from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and closes Friday, October 24. Judy Licht delights in watching dye and silk merge, creating a single entity that is both vivid color and sensuous fabric. Silk painting is an unusual medium and the show illustrates its rich variety. Judy draws her inspiration from the natural world, and is especially interested in the contrast between the harshness of the desert and the softness of the silk.
The Tombaugh Gallery, located inside the Unitarian Universalist Church of Las Cruces, is open Wednesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays from 10:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. or by appt. Please call 522-7281 for more info.
