Rod MacDonald: LIVE MUSIC EVENT!

Rod MacDonald is a folk music legend with a career that began in Greenwich Village, where he co-founded the Greenwich Village Folk Festival and recorded 21 songs now housed in the Smithsonian Folkways collection. Once a journalist for Newsweek, he traded reporting for songwriting, crafting powerful, poetic songs like American Jerusalem, White Buffalo, and A Sailor’s Prayer, covered by artists such as Shawn Colvin, Dave Van Ronk, and Garnet Rogers. With 14 solo albums, including the #1 folk/roots hit "Raven" and 2023’s Rants and Romance, Rod’s music is a masterful blend of storytelling, sharp observation, and raw emotion. Named one of the “Ten Greatest Folksingers in South Florida History,” he continues to inspire as a performer and educator.

On Saturday, April 19th, at 7 PM, Rod MacDonald takes the stage at the Doña Ana Arts Council gallery (230 S. Water St.) for a special fundraising concert in support of local arts programming. Expect an unforgettable evening of songs about freedom, love, justice, and compassion—the kind that stir your soul and leave you feeling more inspired than when you arrived.
