Getting Your Work Seen Online: A Template Website Approach
A workshop demo of Fine Art Studio Online
Local artist Mary Diesel has been using FASO (Fine Art Studio Online) as her website program since 2009, and believes the template approach is the way to go for artists who want to spend most of their time making their art! In her two-hour Get Artrageous presentation,she’ll cover these topics:
Hour One:
● Artist’s site demo: Site Styles,“Pages,” Basic Editing
● Highlight of additional, optional features: Blogs, Newsletters and Marketing
● Information about the various pricing options.
Hour Two:
● Brief overview of artist resources and contest possibilities through FASO
● Walk-through of questionnaire that will help participants “imagine” their website, the first step in creating one!
● Message about how to transform their desire to see their work online into a contemporary website format that is enhanced with current trends: social media, mobile viewing, and online payment.
Bio:
Mary Diesel has a background not only in art but in technical writing, desktop publishing, teaching and template-based webdesign. She wrote a 12-page newsletter for Mobil Computer Operations, designed the calendar three years for Terlingua Visual Arts group, and has created dozens of online and printed flyers for various shows and events. She is currently writing and publishing Now Showing, the monthly newsletter for AGAVE ARTISTS, and designed their website using another program, Squarespace, which features artist pages for each of the cooperative’s members.
She currently manages a website for Big Bend Arts Council and serves on the steering committee for Gallery on the Square in Alpine, Texas. She is publicity coordinator for AGAVE ARTISTS in Mesilla, New Mexico and is also a founding member, serving on the steering committee there from June -September, 2019.
