The Partners in Education program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (KCPE) is designed to help arts organizations throughout the nation develop or expand educational partnerships with their local school systems. The primary purpose of these partnerships is to provide professional learning in the arts for teachers.
The Partners in Education program is based on the belief that teachers’ professional learning is an essential component of any effort designed to increase young people’s artistic literacy.
Since 1996, the Doña Ana Arts Council and the Las Cruces Public Schools have been members of the KCPE. We have expanded our team and working group to include The Las Cruces Museum, New Mexico State University Museum, Spaceport America, Cruces Creatives, and Dona Ana Community College.
Please attend this Promoting Art series and find out what our local KCPE Team is planning for 2021. We are excited about an upcoming pilot project based on the Las Cruces Space Festival Art Show titled Dawn of Discovery and other projects. We welcome any input from the community.
